💫 Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
At the heart of our work is the understanding that emotions are not problems to be managed — they are signals from the body and nervous system, pointing toward unmet needs, past wounds, and the desire for deeper connection.
Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we help you build emotional literacy and safety by listening to what your emotions are trying to say. This work supports emotional regulation, reduces reactivity, and opens up more authentic communication — with yourself and others.

🧠 Trauma Healing at Quantum Psychology
We specialise in therapies that work with the brain’s natural healing mechanisms — particularly those operating below conscious awareness. Trauma often begins in the body and the brainstem, not the thinking mind — which is why talking alone isn’t always enough.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-based technique that uses the visual field to access stored trauma in the subcortical brain. It bypasses the thinking mind and activates deep healing in areas where emotional and physical pain are held — often without needing to relive or verbalise the experience.
This approach supports nervous system regulation, reduces emotional overwhelm, and creates space for meaningful shifts in perception, self-connection, and well-being.
Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR)
DBR works at the earliest level of trauma — where shock, tension, and protective defences first form. By focusing on the sequence of tension to shock to emotional defence, DBR allows the body to complete what was once frozen or dissociated. This method is especially effective for those with early relational trauma or chronic patterns of shutdown and disconnection.
Through this work, the body gently begins to integrate what was once overwhelming, restoring a sense of coherence, presence, and emotional safety.
Understanding Perception and the Subconscious
Much of the distress we experience in daily life stems not just from what happens — but from how we perceive what happens. Your brain is constantly assigning meaning through subconscious filters shaped by past experiences, early attachments, and protective beliefs.
To support this process, Fiona Gilholme-Hird developed The Self Regulation Project’s Five Step Model of Perception © — a simple, powerful framework that helps us make sense of how perception is formed and how we can begin to shift it.
While we don’t outline the full model here, its insights are woven throughout everything we do at Quantum Psychology. It allows us to gently track how reactions begin, where meaning is assigned, and how your system moves toward action — often without conscious awareness.
This process gives you the tools to recognise your patterns, soften your defences, and begin to change how you relate to stress, connection, and emotional pain — not through force, but through understanding.
